Every July, more than half a million aviation enthusiasts descend on Oshkosh, Wisconsin for EAA AirVenture — a week where Wittman Regional Airport becomes the busiest control tower in the world. Thousands of aircraft fly in, from vintage warbirds and homebuilts to military jets and the newest experimental designs.
Daily airshows, workshops, forums, and night-time pyrotechnic performances fill the schedule, and many attendees camp on the grounds among the parked aircraft. It's a bucket-list pilgrimage for pilots and plane-lovers alike.
